The WGTB Jazz Combo offers professional live music for corporate events, private gatherings, and intimate venues. Featuring top musicians from We Got the Beat’s program, the ensemble performs jazz standards and contemporary R&B with polish and versatility.

Musicians

Anna

Anna is a sophomore in high school and has been a part of We Got The Beat for 4 years. Her favorite instrument to play is the electric bass guitar. Anna wants to be a touring musician and a music teacher.

Charley

Charley is a 12th grader and has been a member of We Got The Beat for 11 years. She loves singing, soloing, and playing the congas. Charley is also active in Beyond the Beat and Drumline. She also teaches in the hand drum room during summer camp while helping the We Got The Beat rookie group throughout the year.

Katie

Katie is a drummer and a vibraphonist who has been playing for five years. She plays with We Got The Beat, We Got The Beat Drum Line, Fresno Unified Honor Jazz Band, and has played with FMCMEA Honor Jazz Band. She is an award-winning percussionist who will be attending Bullard High School in the fall of 2026, where she will be a member of their Marching Band Drumline, Wind Symphony, and Jazz Band.

Luke

Luke, 9th grade, has been studying percussion since 2018. He has been performing with WGTB since 2019, joined Beyond the Beat Band in 2023, and added the Combo Jazz Group in 2025. Jazz Music is Luke’s choice genre. Drumkit is his first-choice instrument, although he enjoys and plays other percussion instruments. Over the years, he’s consistently been a student assistant for the younger groups through the performance year and during summer camps. Luke is considering a career in music after High School.

Milo

Milo, age 14, has been involved in the We Got the Beat program since 2019, and currently plays in both Beyond the Beat ensembles, the Drumline, and the Combo. He is also privately studying vibraphone (his favorite instrument), drum set, and piano. When he’s not practicing or at rehearsal, he loves to play tabletop RPG and card games. He’s hoping to continue studying music throughout his high school years and into college.

Timothy

Timothy is a percussionist who has been a part of the We Got The Beat/Beyond The Beat program for six years, as well as a member of the newly established We Got The Beat Drumline. Timothy is also a student assistant throughout the school year for the Secondary ensemble of WGTB, in addition to WGTB summer camps as a hand drum and drum set specialist, his personal favourite instruments. His contributions to the program have been his reliability, as he has never missed a concert or performing commitment in his time with the organisation.
