Instrument Rental Agreement

Section 1: Parties

This Instrument Rental Agreement ("Agreement") is entered into between:

Lessor: We Got the Beat (WGTB), a Fresno-based 501(c)(3) non-profit youth music education organization.

Section 2: Instrument Information

Section 3: Rental Period

Rental Start Date: June 19, 2026
Rental End Date: June 14, 2027

The instrument must be returned to WGTB on or before the Rental End Date unless a written renewal is agreed upon by both parties.

Section 4: Payment Terms

Summer Fee: $25.00 due at time of rental (Covers the period through August 31, 2026)

Monthly Fee: $25.00 per month beginning September 2026, due by the 3rd of each month.

Late Payments may result in suspension of instrument rental privileges. Returned checks will incur a $25.00 returned check fee.

Payment may be made by check (payable to We Got the Beat), exact cash, approved electronic method, or monthly recurring invoice payment.

Section 5: Parts & Accessories Inventory

All parts, accessories, and components issued with the instrument are the responsibility of the Renter. The Renter agrees to keep track of all items listed below and return them in the same or better condition at the end of the rental period. Missing or damaged items must be reported to WGTB immediately.

Section 6: Renter Responsibilities

The Renter agrees to:

  1. Maintain the instrument in good working condition and use it only for its intended musical purpose.
  2. Store the instrument safely when not in use and protect it from extreme temperatures, moisture, and physical damage.
  3. Keep track of ALL parts, accessories,  and components (see Inventory above) and return them at the end of the rental period.
  4. Not loan, sublease, or transfer the instrument to any other person.
  5. Notify WGTB promptly of any damage, loss, theft, or malfunction.
  6. Not make any modifications, repairs, or alterations to the instrument without prior written consent from WGTB.

Section 7: Damage & Loss Liability

The Renter is financially responsible for any damage, loss, or theft of the instrument or any of its parts and accessories during the rental period. this includes:

  • Repair costs for damage caused by misuse, negligence, or accident.
  • Full replacement cost for lost, stolen, or irreparably damaged instruemtns or accessories.
  • Normal wear and tear is expected and is not the Renter's responsibility.

WGTB reserves the right to assess the condition of the instrument upon return and invoice the Renter for any costs beyond normal wear and tear.

Section 8: Return Policy

The instrument must be returned to WGTB by June 13, 2027, or upon earlier termination of this Agreement. Early returns are accepted at any time – please contact WGTB to schedule a return.

Upon return, WGTB staff will inspect the instrument and accessories against the inventory checklist (Section 5). The Renter will be notified of any discrepancies within 10 business days.

Failure to return the instrument by the agreed-upon date may result in additional monthly charges and/or referral for collection.

Section 9: Early Termination

Either party may terminate this Agreement with 30 days written notice. The Renter is responsible for all fees accrued up to the return date. No refunds will be issued for prepaid rental fees.
